REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 14, 1988 <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the First Amendments as submitted were <br />approved and executed. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKINGSPACEAT 133 EAST <br />MILTON STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Viola Laurence, 133 East Milton, <br />South Bend, Indiana, requested that the parking space in front of <br />her residence be designated as a handicapped parking space as she <br />has difficulty walking and is unable to park in front of her <br />residence as she lives near a church that takes up parking on the <br />street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division <br />for review and recommendation. <br />PARKING SIGNS AT JOHN ADAM <br />In a letter to the Board, <br />Transportation, South Ben <br />Maintenance Facility, 3033 <br />Indiana, requested changes <br />High School. <br />- ------- , <br />d Community School Cor <br />North Bendix Drive, <br />in the parking signs <br />ey Director of <br />poration, Vehicle <br />South Bend, <br />at John Adams <br />Mr. McColley advised that currently the signs along the east side <br />of Twyckenham indicate "No Parking Passenger Loading Zone" and a <br />combination of passenger cars and school buses park along this <br />curb. Along the south side of Wall Street are double signs which <br />read "No Parking" and "No Parking Zone 7am-4pm". Both passenger <br />cars and buses are parking in this area. It is requested that <br />these signs be switched by putting the "No Parking" and "No <br />Parking Bus Zone 7am-4pm" signs along the east side of Twyckenham <br />and the "No Parking Passenger Loading Zone" signs along the south <br />side of Wall Street. The school will then use Twyckenham <br />exclusively for school bus loading and unloading and Wall Street <br />for passenger car loading and unloading. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division <br />for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS - <br />TYPEWRITER MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR A THREE (3) YEAR PERIOD <br />BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1989 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1991 <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Katherine Humphreys, Director, <br />Administration and Finance, requested that the Board advertise <br />for the receipt of Proposals for the City's Typewriter <br />Maintenance Agreement for a three (3) year period beginning <br />January 1, 1989 through December 31, 1991. Submitted with the <br />request were specifications and an inventory of all the City's <br />typewriters. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER UALIFICATION <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, the Affirmative Action <br />Committee advised that after careful review they have <br />the following companies have met the requirements of <br />Affirmative Action Ordinance and are therefore being <br />for approval as qualified City bidders: <br />1.
