REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 31, 1988 <br />The Maintenance Bond from Selge Construction Company, Inc., in <br />the amount of $90,653.00, indicates that this Bond is for the <br />construction of the I/N Tek Sanitary Sewer extension, Phase IV. <br />The Maintenance Bond from HRP Company, Inc., in the amount of <br />$106,594.23 is for construction of the I/N Tek Sanitary Sewer <br />Extension, Phase II. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the Maintenance Bonds as submitted were approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR SPECIAL PARKING GARAGE RATE FOR HOLIDAY <br />PARADE <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office <br />of Community Affairs, requested Board approval to offer a special <br />rate -at the Jefferson Street parking garage for the Holiday <br />Parade on Saturday, November 12, 1988. Ms. Dobski stated that <br />the proposed rate would be a $1.00 flat rate from 8:00 a.m. to <br />12:00 noon. She noted that the parade will be from 10:00 a.m. <br />until 12:00 noon so this should be an adequate time frame for <br />parade spectators and participants. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the <br />motion and it carried. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />The Affirmative Action Review Committee advised the Board that <br />after a complete review, they found that the following companies <br />have met the requirements of the South Bend Affirmative Action <br />Ordinance and it is recommended that these companies be approved <br />as qualified City bidders: <br />1. Morton Thiokol, Inc. (Division of Morton Salt) <br />2. Professional Photographic Materials <br />3. International Salt Company <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the applications <br />approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for Evelyn Jordan, d/b/a/ Jordan Construction <br />be approved retroactive to October 26, 1988. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />above Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Small, Inc., 25190 <br />State Road 4, North Liberty, Indiana was accepted and filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, St. Joseph County Job <br />Training Program, submitted a list containing sixty-four (64) <br />claims and recommended approval. Additionally, Chief Deputy <br />Controller John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim Docket Nos. <br />14861 through 15208 and Claim Docket Nos. 15277 through 15458 and <br />recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the claims were approved <br />and the reports as submitted were filed. <br />
