• REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 19, 1988 had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above request was approved and a date of October 3, 1988 was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - DE-ICING MATERIALS Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Bill Penn, Director, Division of Transportation, has requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the following materials: 1. Sodium Chloride 12,000 tons 2. Liquid Calcium Chloride 100,000 gals. 3. Calcium Chloride Sand 5,000 tons 4. Calcium Chloride Slag Sand 5,000 tons Mr. Leszczynski noted that the quantities indicated above are the same as required last year. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above request was approved. REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 1235 GOODLAND AND "BLIND PERSON THIS BLOCK" SIGN TO BE PLACED IN 1200 BLOCK OF GOODLAND - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. Edward E. Williams, 1235 Goodland, South Bend, Indiana, advised that he is legally blind and would therefore like the parking space in front of his residence designated as a handicapped parking space. Also, Mr. Williams requested that a sign be placed in the 1200 block of Goodland Avenue advising "blind person this block." Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the requests were referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. APPROVE REOUE 3RD ANNUAL W WA Mr. Leszczyns bureaus have the Board on upon a motion and carried, approved. OF HOSPICE 0: T. JOSEPH COUNTY, INC. TO CONDU FOR HOSPICE - OCTOBER 16. 1988 ki advised that the appropriate City departments and reviewed the above referred to request submitted to May 23, 1988 and recommend approval. Therefore, made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys the recommendation was accepted and the request APPROVE REQUEST OF SAINT JOSEPH'S_ MEDICAL CENTER TO CONDUCT 8TH ANNUAL SPORTSMED 10K ROAD RACE, 1 MILE FUN RUN AND 4K WALK - OCTOBER 30, 1988 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on September 12, 1988 and recommend approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of sixty-eight (68) properties cleaned from August 24, 1988 to September 8, 1988, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report as submitted was filed.
