REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 20, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:31 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 1988, by Board member Patricia E. <br />DeClercq, with Mrs. DeClercq and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. <br />Board President John E. Leszczynski was not in attendance. Also <br />present was Board Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, additional Ethnic Festival Booth applications were <br />added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on June 6, 1988 and the minutes of the Special Meeting of the <br />Board held on June 16, 1988 were approved. <br />r' <br />h <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) TYPE I, FULLY EQUIPPED MODULAR <br />AMBULANCE FOR THE SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Mrs. DeClercq advised that this was the date set for receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. <br />Board Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent advised the Board that the <br />bid submitted by McClain Specialty Vehicles, Box 1967, Anderson, <br />Indiana, did not contain bid security and should therefore be <br />rejected. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the bid was rejected contingent upon there <br />not being found somewhere in the lengthy bid packet the <br />appropriate bid security. <br />The following bids were read: <br />MC COY MILLER, INC. <br />53404 C.R. 13 <br />Elkhart, Indiana 46514 <br />Bid was submitted by Leonard Pickering, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order and a Bid Bond in the amount of <br />$7,087.90 was submitted. <br />BID: <br />Class I Type I Ambulance $70,879.00 <br />(1) 1988 McCoy Miller Type I ambulance on <br />a Ford deluxe diesel chassis to customer's <br />specifications, modular size 144" x 94" x 66" <br />Total lease/purchase contract price <br />including interest - $81,868.74 <br />Terms of sale will be 3 year lease/purchase to <br />be paid semi-annually for a total of six (6) payments. <br />First payment of $13,644.79 will be due on January <br />15, 1989 and remaining payments of $13,644.79 will <br />be due every six (6) months thereafter. At end of <br />lease contract, South Bend may purchase unit for $1.00. <br />ROLLANDS_PECIALTY VEHICLES & PRODUCTS, INC. (RSVP) <br />P.O.
