REGULAR MEETING JUNE 20, 1988 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:31 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 1988, by Board member Patricia E. DeClercq, with Mrs. DeClercq and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Board President John E. Leszczynski was not in attendance. Also present was Board Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, additional Ethnic Festival Booth applications were added to the agenda. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on June 6, 1988 and the minutes of the Special Meeting of the Board held on June 16, 1988 were approved. r' h OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) TYPE I, FULLY EQUIPPED MODULAR AMBULANCE FOR THE SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT Mrs. DeClercq advised that this was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Board Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent advised the Board that the bid submitted by McClain Specialty Vehicles, Box 1967, Anderson, Indiana, did not contain bid security and should therefore be rejected. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the bid was rejected contingent upon there not being found somewhere in the lengthy bid packet the appropriate bid security. The following bids were read: MC COY MILLER, INC. 53404 C.R. 13 Elkhart, Indiana 46514 Bid was submitted by Leonard Pickering, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a Bid Bond in the amount of $7,087.90 was submitted. BID: Class I Type I Ambulance $70,879.00 (1) 1988 McCoy Miller Type I ambulance on a Ford deluxe diesel chassis to customer's specifications, modular size 144" x 94" x 66" Total lease/purchase contract price including interest - $81,868.74 Terms of sale will be 3 year lease/purchase to be paid semi-annually for a total of six (6) payments. First payment of $13,644.79 will be due on January 15, 1989 and remaining payments of $13,644.79 will be due every six (6) months thereafter. At end of lease contract, South Bend may purchase unit for $1.00. ROLLANDS_PECIALTY VEHICLES & PRODUCTS, INC. (RSVP) P.O.
