REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 15, 1988 <br />1 <br />7L <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:38 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 1988, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, and <br />Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Chief Deputy <br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the February 8, 1988, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF PROPOSALS - TOWING AND STORAGE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed Proposals for the Towing and <br />Storage of Abandoned Vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />Notice of Publication in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be -sufficient. The following <br />Proposals were read: <br />STEVE & GENE'S AUTO TRUCK SALVAGE <br />3109 Gertrude Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Proposal was submitted by Gene Hancz, Partner and is as <br />follows: <br />Towing: <br />Regular tow - $40.00 per vehicle <br />Tow without wheels - $50.00 per vehicle <br />$5.00 per visit of tow truck to an address and unable to <br />tow because vehicle has been moved. <br />Storage <br />$950.00 per month for storage of not less than one <br />hundred fifty (150 ) vehicles <br />SOUTH BEND AUTO PARTS <br />307 West Calvert Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Proposal was submitted by Phillip D. Smith, Owner and is as <br />follows: <br />Towing• <br />Regular tow - $25.00 per vehicle <br />Tow without wheels - $25.00 per vehicle <br />$5.00 per visit of tow truck to an address and unable to <br />tow because vehicle has been moved. <br />Storage <br />$500.00 per month for storage of not less than one <br />hundred fifty (150) vehicles <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above Proposals were referred to the Department <br />of Code Enforcement for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the sale of approximately twenty (20) abandoned vehicles <br />which have been stored at Steve and Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage <br />and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient.
