ILI REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 12, 1988 APPROVE REQUEST OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO CONDUCT "RIGHT TO LIFE" MARCH - JANUARY 17, 1988 Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above referred to request, submitted to the Board on December 29, 1987, was approved subject to favorable recommendations being received from the appropriate City Departments and bureaus currently reviewing this request. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT MARCH - MARTIN LUTHER KING CELEBRATION - JANUARY 18, 1988 Ms. Gladys Muhammad, Martin Luther King Celebration Committee, requested permission to conduct a march on the public sidewalk on the north side of Jefferson Boulevard from the County -City Building to Century Center on January 18, 1988 at 1:30 p.m. Ms. Muhammad advised that approximately one hundred and fifty (150) individuals will participate in this march. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above referred to request was approved subject to favorable recommendations being received from the appropriate City Departments and bureaus currently reviewing this request. FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION Mr. Leszczynski advised that applications from the following companies have been received: 1. Harry H. Verkler, Contractor, Inc. 645 Wilber Street South Bend, Indiana 2. Badger Meter, Inc. 4545 West Brown Deer Road P.O. Box 23099 Milwaukee, WI 3. LCI, Ltd. 889 South Brentwood Blvd., Suite 107 Clayton, MO 4. Business Systems, Inc. 3618 Grape Road Mishawaka, Indiana 5. Kent Meters, Inc. 903 N.E. Osceola Avenue P.O. Box 1852 Ocala, Florida Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above referred to applications were accepted for filing and referred to the appropriate City departments for review and recommendation. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following one (1) handicapped parking permit application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a permit: 1. Michael J. Pecsi 17260 Douglas Rd., S.B. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of ten (10) properties cleaned from January 4, 1988 to January 8, 1988, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as submitted was filed. 1
