JEFFERSON FOR BUILDING REPAIRS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted <br />the Board on December 22, 1987, and recommend approval. Upon <br />motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request <br />approved. <br />and <br />to <br />a <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, 1 HOUR PARKING 6A-6P - 211 W. <br />Washington, 2 spaces. (Signage change due to <br />hotel opening). <br />2. REMOVAL OF STOP SIGN ON ROSEMARY AT OAK PARK, REVISED <br />TO STOP SIGN - On Oak Park at Rosemary. <br />(Switch signs after closing Rosemary). <br />3. REMOVAL OF 30 MINUTE PARKING 6A-6P - 614 N. Michigan <br />(Travel Lodge). (Building torn down). <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of thirty-nine (39) properties cleaned from December 28, <br />1987 to December 31, 1987 was submitted. Upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report <br />as submitted was filed. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />CONCERNS REGARDING BROKEN WATER MAINS DUE TO COLD TEMPERATURES <br />South Bend Tribune Reporter James Wensits inquired if the City is <br />experiencing any water main breaks due to the extreme cold <br />temperatures. Mr. Leszczynski advised that it is too early to <br />tell at this time but advised Mr. Wensits that the City has been <br />experiencing complications with frozen traffic signals and with <br />inoperable traffic signals caused by accidents.
