292 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 2, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:33 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 1989, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq and <br />Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Jenny Pitts Manier. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, Resolution No. 40-1989 was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting <br />on September 25, 1989, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - OBSOLETE HEWLETT P <br />Ms. Humphreys <br />of the Board held <br />SYSTEM <br />(POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the purchase of the Police Department obsolete Hewlett <br />Packard Computer System. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />EURODATA, INC. <br />2574 Sheffield Road <br />Ottawa, Ont. Canada K1B 3V7 <br />Bid was submitted by Leslie Klein, President, and indicated <br />that Eurodata offers for the entire Hewlett Packard 3000 <br />Computer System the amount of $4,000.00. <br />The Bid also noted that Eurodata, Inc., will pay the freight <br />charges on the system following equipment de -installation by <br />Hewlett Packard. <br />FIDELITY SYSTEMS, INC. <br />3200 Wilcrest, Suite 250 <br />Houston, Texas 77042 <br />Bid was submitted by George Fall, Marketing Representative, <br />and indicated that Fidelity Systems, Inc., quotes a total <br />price of $5,000.00 for the computer system as advertised. <br />The bid noted that Fidelity Systems will be fully <br />responsible for the shipping and handling of all equipment <br />and that the terms will be 25% prior to pick-up, 75% upon <br />delivery and inspection and the receipt of proper <br />maintenance certificates. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Police <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - WALKWAY - LA SALLE TO EAST RACE PROJECT AND <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />
