255 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 21, 1989 <br />APPROVE <br />LAPORTE <br />OF HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD <br />FROM WASHINGTON TO COLFAX <br />10TH ANNUAL HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD SALE - S <br />N <br />Mr. ueszczynski advised that the above referred to request, which <br />was received by the Board on August 7, 1989, has been reviewed by <br />the appropriate City departments and bureaus and is recommended <br />for approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was <br />accepted and the request approved. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, has <br />recommended that the Contractor's Bond of O.D. Diggins be <br />released.effective August 14, 1989. Therefore, upon a motion. <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, <br />the recommendation was accepted and the bond released. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE - <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following traffic control device was approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: NO TURN ON RED <br />LOCATIONS: Calvert & Twyckenham <br />Ewing & Twyckenham <br />Twyckenham & McKinley <br />Ironwood & McKinley <br />Miami & Donmoyer <br />Mishawaka & 30th Street <br />Mishawaka & 26th Street <br />Ironwood & Jefferson <br />LaSalle & Hill <br />Miami & Ridgedale <br />REMARKS: Seasonal Signage <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Chief Deputy City Controller John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim <br />Docket No. 12934 through Claim Docket No. 13301 and recommended <br />approval. <br />Additionally, Voucher Nos. 653-684 for the Bureau of Wastewater, <br />Voucher Nos. 493-528 for the Bureau of Sewers and Voucher Nos. <br />44-48 for the Bureau of Solid Waste were submitted for approval. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the claims and vouchers, as indicated above, were <br />approved and the reports as submitted were filed. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />APPEAL TO MOTORISTS TO OBSERVE SPEED ZONES/RESTRICTIONS AROUND <br />SCHOOL AREAS <br />Mr-. Michael P. Meeks, Director, Division of Engineering, advised <br />that he would like to mention that with the start of school this <br />week all motorists are encouraged to follow the speed zones, as <br />well as the no turn on red signs and other restrictions posted <br />around the school areas. <br />In response to a question from the news media regarding any <br />change in crossing guard alignment, Ms. Humphreys stated that to <br />
