HIRING PLAN <br />This annexation will not result in the elimination of jobs of <br />employees of another governmental entity. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 30-1989 REGULATING THE USE BY VEHICLES OF <br />THE CITY -OWNED PARKING LOT AT 117 SOUTH LAFAYETTE, SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the following Resolution No. 30-1989 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 30-1989 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />REGULATING THE USE BY VEHICLES OF THE CITY -OWNED PARKING LOT <br />AT 117 SOUTH LAFAYETTE, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />WHEREAS, the parking lot at 117 South Lafayette, South Bend, <br />Indiana, is owned by the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Board of Public Works is authorized <br />by Section 20-7(b) of the South Bend Municipal Code to adopt <br />reasonable rules and regulations governing the use by vehicles of <br />property owned by the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of City -owned property by vehicles not <br />otherwise authorized by the Board of Public Works is prohibited <br />by Section 20-7(a) of the South Bend Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has determined that <br />Resolution No. 7-1976 of the Board of Public Works governing the <br />use of the City -owned parking lot at 117 South Lafayette has <br />proven unworkable and should be repealed; and <br />WHEREAS, there exists a need to adopt new, more workable <br />rules and regulations with respect to the use by vehicles of the <br />City -owned parking lot at 117 South Lafayette. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That Resolution No. 7-1976 of the Board of Public Works <br />shall be and the same hereby is repealed. <br />2. That the City -owned parking lot at 117 South Lafayette <br />shall be used only by those vehicles authorized by the Director <br />of the Department of Public Works, the same to be designated by <br />the appropriate sticker. <br />3. That stickers authorizing the use of the City -owned <br />parking lot at 117 South Lafayette shall be displayed in the <br />upper left-hand corner of the rear window. <br />4. That any vehicle, authorized or not to use the <br />City -owned parking lot at 117 South Lafayette, parked in said lot <br />without bearing the appropriate sticker, as provided herein, <br />shall be deemed unauthorized and in violation of Section 20-7 of <br />the South Bend Municipal Code. <br />5. That the Police Department, pursuant to Section 20-17 of <br />the South Bend Municipal Code, shall notify, by ticket, the owner <br />or operator of any unauthorized vehicle found using the <br />City -owned parking lot at 117 South Lafayette, that he or she is <br />
