REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 10, 1989 <br />201 <br />claims, Chief Deputy Controller John D. Leisenring submitted <br />Claim Docket Nos. 10832 through 11041 and 11091 through 11261, <br />Voucher Nos. 502-561 for the Bureau of Wastewater, Voucher Nos. <br />367-420 for the Bureau of Sewers and Voucher No. 38 for the <br />Bureau of Solid Waste, were submitted for approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the claims and vouchers were approved and the reports as <br />submitted were filed. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO INVOKE EMERGENCY POWERS OF BOARD IN REGARDS TO <br />SEWER FAILURE IN THE 1200 BLOCK OF MAIN STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised at this time that he is requesting that <br />the Board invoke its emergency powers and authorize and seek <br />emergency bids from contractors for the repair of a broken sewer <br />line in the 1200 block of South Main Street which oc<,urred over <br />the weekend. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion to approve <br />the Board invoking its emergency powers in this situation. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />In response to questions from the new media concerning this <br />matter, Mr. Leszczynski advised that it was a brick sewer that <br />collapsed and is in need of repair, that the damage extended from <br />curb to curb, that traffic has been re-routed and that it is <br />anticipated that repair work will take two (2) to three (3) <br />weeks. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m. <br />ohn E.
