Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />license application as submitted be denied. Ms. Humphreys <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />APPROVE APPLICATION FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that it has been recommended that the <br />application for bidder qualification as submitted by Korte <br />Brothers, Inc., 335 Murray Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, be <br />approved. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, Korte Brothers was <br />approved as a qualified City bidder. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR FLAT RATE AT PARKING GARAGE IN CONJUNCTION <br />WITH OPENING NIGHT AT COVELESKI STADIUM <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director, Office <br />of Community Affairs, requested permission to open the Main <br />Street parking garage on April 7, 1989 from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 <br />p.m. for a flat rate of one dollar ($1.00). Ms. Dobski stated <br />that the purpose of this request is to provide additional <br />off -site parking for the large crowds expected for Opening Night <br />at the Coveleski Stadium. Ms. Dobski further advised that <br />TRANSPO will be providing a special "Trolley" shuttle from the <br />downtown area to the stadium for a nominal fee. Therefore, upon <br />a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the request as submitted was approved. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 208 CHAPIN STREET - <br />REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter <br />from Mr. Patrick Doyle, 730 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana, <br />stating that he owns and lives at 730 W. Jefferson and also owns <br />the lot and house next door at 734 West Jefferson. He is <br />therefore interested in purchasing the parcel of land which is <br />currently owned by the City located at 208 Chapin Street. Mr. <br />Doyle stated that this parcel of property backs up to his <br />property and he wishes to purchase the lot in order to maintain <br />it, clean it and at some point move a house onto the property. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus in order that a <br />determination can be made of whether the City need retain this <br />property for any reason. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: Stop Sign <br />LOCATION: Tasher & Fellows <br />REMARKS: Uncontrolled "T" intersection <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, St. Joseph County Job <br />Training Program, submitted a list containing seventy (70) claims <br />and recommended approval. Additionally, Chief Deputy Controller <br />John D. Leisenring, submitted Claim Docket No. 6594 through Claim <br />Docket No. 6836 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the claims were approved and the reports as submitted were filed. <br />
