zz
REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 30, 1989
GROUP IV
GROUP V
GROUP VI
GROUP VII
GROUP VIII
WEEKLY TOTAL
TOTAL 3 YEAR CONTRACT
12.80
82.50
15.40
23.14
.60
906.07
$141,346.92
Board Attorney Marva J. Leonard -Dent noted that the Certified
Check in the amount of $11,416.81 as submitted with the bid of
Swank Uniform Rental, Inc. contained insufficient bid security as
it was not 100 of the bid quoted. It was her recommendation that
the amounts indicated in the bid be recomputed and if they are
correct, then the bid security is inadequate and the bid should
be rejected.
A review and recomputation of the bid of Swank Uniform revealed
that the numbers were added incorrectly and should be as follows:
TOTAL WEEKLY
$ 1,097.77
104 WEEK TOTAL $114,168.08
Therefore, the Certified Check in the amount of $11,416.81 as
submitted with the bid is adequate bid security and the bid can
be considered.
Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq
and carried, the bids received were referred to the City
Controller's office for review and recommendation and the
Applications for Bidder Qualification as submitted with the bids
were accepted for filing and referred to the Affirmative Action
Review Committee for review and recommendation.
OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES
This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids
for the sale of approximately forty-two (42) abandoned vehicles
which have been stored at South Bend Auto Parts storage lot
located at 218 South Grant Street, South Bend, Indiana. The
Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend
Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be
sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read:
MR. JIM BERGER
1515 South Walnut
South Bend, Indiana
Vehicle No. 1.
$26.50
Vehicle No. 22.
26.50
2.
26.50
23.
26.50
3.
20.50
24.
26.50
4.
19.50
25.
26.50
5.
26.50
26.
21.50
6.
21.50
27.
19.50
7.
15.50
28.
19.50
8.
19.50
29.
26.50
9.
26.50
30.
26.50
10.
26.50
31.
21.50
11.
21.50
32.
19.50
12.
21.50
33.
26.50
13.
21.50
34.
19.50
14.
19.50
35.
26.50
15.
19.50
36.
26.50
16.
19.50
37.
19.50
17.
19.50
38.
19.50
18.
21.50
39.
19.50
19.
15.50
40.
19.50
20.
19.50
41.
15.50
21.
26.50
42.
15.50
11
1
1
