swim <br />SIR in <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 1990 <br />ADDENDUM II <br />DIVISION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND BUSINESS ASSISTANCE <br />WEST WASHINGTON DEVELOPMENT <br />Addendum II extends the Contract term to December 31, 1990. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above referred to Addendum was approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE IBM COMPUTER CONTRACTS: <br />- AGREEMENT WITH CROWE CHIZEK & COMPANY TO ACT AS PROJECT MANAGER <br />FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />- HTE LICENSING AGREEMENT <br />- IBM MARKETING LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ms. Katherine Humphreys, Director, <br />Administration and Finance, has submitted to the Board three (3) <br />Agreements/Contracts for approval in regards to the new IBM <br />computer system. <br />Ms. Humphreys advised that the Letter of Understanding between <br />IBM and HTE simply acknowledges the City's understanding that IBM <br />is the authorized application specialist for the HTE software. <br />As specified in the Letter, the City is not obligated to accept <br />IBM products or services. <br />The Agreement for Staff Implementation Service is between the <br />City and Crowe Chizek and Company and indicates that they shall <br />serve as project manager for implementation of the computer <br />system and will be compensated a flat fee of $40,000 for <br />providing these services. It was noted that through discussions <br />with Crowe Chizek it was decided that a fixed price contract <br />would be preferable to the City. <br />Finally, the Agreement with HTE specifies the City's obligations <br />under the licensing agreement. <br />Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the above referred to <br />Agreements as submitted be approved and executed. Mrs. DeClercq <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID• <br />- SEVEN (7) PICK-UP TRUCKS <br />- FOUR (4) COMPACT AUTOMOBILES <br />- TWO (2) MIDSIZE AUTOMOBILES <br />- TWO (2) FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE UTILITY VEHICLES <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division <br />of Equipment Services, advised that he has reviewed the bids <br />received on September 4, 1990, for the above referred to vehicles <br />and the following is his recommendation for the bid award for the <br />purchase of six (6) automobiles, seven (7) pick-up trucks and two <br />(2) four wheel drive suburbans: <br />GATES CHEVROLET CORPORATION <br />401 South Lafayette Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Four (4) 1991 Cavalier Autos <br />$ 9,058.35 ea. <br />$36,233.40 <br />total <br />Two (2) 1991 Lumina Autos <br />$12,203.01 ea. <br />$24,406.02 <br />total <br />Two (2) 1991 Suburbans <br />$20,895.46 ea. <br />$41,790.92 <br />total <br />Seven (7) 1991 1/2 Ton Pick -Up <br />$11,693.00 ea. <br />$81,851.00 <br />total <br />Mr. St. Clair noted that Gates Chevrolet was the low bidder in <br />all categories except for the 1/2 ton pick ups. Gates was <br />$81.00 per unit higher than Tom Wood Pontiac/GMC/Isuzu, Mazda of <br />Indianapolis. The total cost difference for all seven (7) pickup <br />trucks is $567.00.
