lair! SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 24, 1990 A Special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:37 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 1990, by Board member Patricia E. DeClercq, with Mrs. DeClercq and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Board President John E. Leszczynski was not in attendance. PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSFER OF REAL ESTATE AND ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 13-1990 INDICATING INTENTION TO TRANSFER CERTAIN REAL ESTATE TO SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY Mrs. DeClercq advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing regarding the transfer of certain real estate to the Redevelopment Authority. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice of Public Hearing which appeared in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Mrs. DeClercq noted that the Board of Public Works has been designated by the Mayor as the entity responsible for holding a Public Hearing on the transfer of property to the South Bend Redevelopment Authority in order for the Authority to make certain improvements. It is further noted that the property to be transferred is as follows: Central Business District curbs and sidewalks in front of: - 100 block of West Washington Street; - The southeast corner of Lafayette Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard. Ms. Ann Kolata, Deputy Executive Director, Department of Economic Development, was present and asked for the Board's favorable consideration of this transfer. She stated that this transfer includes property that was not included in the transfer of property that took place on February 26, 1990 and therefore this transfer is a follow-up to that previous action. She noted that the sidewalks and curbs are located in front of the Trigon Building on West Jefferson and Lafayette and in front of the former Business Systems building on Washington. There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the Public Hearing was closed. Accordingly, Mrs. DeClercq advised that the appropriate Resolution transferring said property has been prepared and is being submitted at this time for adoption. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the Resolution as submitted be adopted. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution No. 13-1990 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 13-1990 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS INDICATING ITS INTENTION TO TRANSFER CERTAIN REAL ESTATE TO THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36-9-6-3 the South Bend Board of Public Works has custody of all real and personal property of the City; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36-9-6-6 the Board of Public Works is authorized to repair public ways, sidewalks or public places within the City; and, WHEREAS, those portions of public right of way described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof, all of which
