Ms. Humphreys <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS <br />The following Community Development Contracts were presented to <br />the Board for approval: <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE ADMINISTRATION <br />The targeted goals for this activity are as follows: <br />A. To provide administrative and service support for <br />neighborhood programs within the Near West Side <br />neighborhood, particularly within the boundaries of the <br />West Washington/Chapin Revitalization Project. <br />B. To assist in the revitalization of the Monroe Park <br />neighborhood, on a limited basis. <br />C. To complete the rehabilitation of 416 East South Street. <br />Funds to be derived from sources other than this <br />Contract. SBH will complete rehab either through its own <br />development or through marketing the property to another <br />entity which guarantees the completion of the project <br />during 1990. <br />D. To continue work on Near West Side housing project and <br />specifically to: <br />- complete the plan for sixty-five (65) new housing <br />units, affordable to low/moderate income households, <br />and determine the financial feasibility of the project; <br />and <br />- complete rehabilitation of five (5) units for rental/ <br />ownership by low/moderate households. <br />E To continue work on the revitalization of commercial <br />structures within the Near West Side neighborhood and <br />specifically to: <br />- obtain additional NAP credit donations to further the <br />rehabilitation of 303 and 313 South Chapin; such rehab <br />to utilize CDBG funds as well and; <br />- acquire 240 and 242 South Chapin for future rehab or <br />disposition in accordance with the plan of West <br />Washington/ Chapin Revitalization Project, inc. for the <br />neighborhood, as approved by the Redevelopment <br />Commission; and <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
