REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 19, 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:33 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 1990, by Board Member Patricia E. <br />DeClercq, with Mrs. DeClercq and Ms. Katherine Humphreys <br />present. Board President John E. Leszczynski was not in <br />attendance. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Jenny Pitts <br />Manier. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the minutes of the March 12, 1990, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS <br />The following Community Development Contracts were presented to <br />the Board for approval: <br />CENTER CITY ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />CENTER CITY ASSOCIATES, INC. (CD90-602) <br />The targeted goals for this activity indicate that the Agency <br />will assist in the marketing and promotion of downtown <br />business activities and develop and implement a downtown <br />revitalization program based upon a public/private <br />partnership. The Agency will also administer a commercial <br />loan/grant fund in the Central Business District. The total <br />cost of this activity shall not exceed $5,000.00. <br />DIVISION OF BUSINESS ASSISTANCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITY <br />(CD90-603) <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide <br />comprehensive monitoring of the Commercial Revolving Loan <br />Fund; assist in making three (3) new loans on the commercial <br />strips; provide assistance to commercial strips on one (1) <br />fund raising endeavor and assist in the organizational <br />development of the Neighborhood Business Development <br />program. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$15,000.00. <br />CANCO, INC. <br />CANCO NEGLECT PREVENTION ACTIVITY (CD90-506) <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide crisis <br />intervention counseling to sixty-five (65) families within <br />the Community Development Neighborhood Revitalization Area. <br />The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $24,700.00. <br />COMMUNITY COORDINATED CHILD CARE, INC. <br />DAY CARE STIPEND ACTIVITY (CD90-502) <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide three <br />thousand two hundred (3,200) child days of service. The <br />total cost of this activity shall not exceed $43,550.00 <br />FRIENDS OF THE UNEMPLOYED, INC. <br />FRIENDS OF THE UNEMPLOYED (CD90-507) <br />The targeted goals for this activity are to assist <br />forty-eight (48) unemployed persons in obtaining job <br />placement counseling and provide four hundred eighty (480) <br />persons with employment information through a walk-in job <br />clinic. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$5,000.00. <br />LEGAL SERVICES PROGRAM OF NORTHERN INDIANA, INC. <br />LEGAL SERVICES ACTIVITY (CD90-501) <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide six hundred <br />
