W.
REGULAR MEETING MARCH 12, 1990
Mr. Klebosits informed the Board that he has resided at 1905
Riverside Drive for over thirty (30) years. He stated that there
is a real traffic problem between Angela and Pinhook Park and
that numerous accidents have occurred near his home due to
vehicles losing control because of excess speed while trying to
maneuver the hairpin curve. Mr. Klebosits stated that vehicles
have driven through his property damaging his lawn and causing a
very dangerous situation at his residence.
Mr. Klebosits stated that the placement of two (2) additional
signs probably will not prevent this type of situation from
occurring again in the future but believes that the additional
signage will alert motorists in enough time to slow down before
reaching the hairpin curve. Mr. Klebosits submitted to the Board
a diagram of the area indicating where he believes the additional
signs could be placed to alert motorists of the curve ahead. He
also submitted to the Board photographs showing where his front
lawn has been driven through on more than one occasion. He noted
that most recently a car went across his driveway where only a
short time earlier his daughter had parked her car. Mr.
Klebosits advised the Board that the police are patrolling the
area quite a bit.
Mrs. DeClercq thanked Mr. Klebosits for bringing this matter to
the attention of the Board and advised him that his concerns will
be referred to the Division of Engineering for review and a study
of the problem to determine what can be done and what action is
appropriate in this matter. Mrs. DeClercq reiterated that the
Division of Engineering will be asked to give this matter serious
consideration and that the Board will report back to him
regarding this matter.
Mr. Klebosits mentioned that he has had communications with
Captain Edward I. Friend of the Police Department Traffic
Division and it was his impression that Captain Friend was to
provide some information to the Board concerning this matter.
Mrs. DeClercq requested that the Clerk contact Captain Friend to
obtain the information to which Mr. Klebosits has referred to in
this matter.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a
motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and
carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:02 a.m.
John E.
