mm <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 19, 1990 <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS NO. 4 & 5 - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PROJECT <br />(WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Cole Associates, Inc., 2211 East <br />Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana as Architect, Specialty <br />Systems of Illinois, 16810 South Lathrop Avenue, Harvey, Illinois <br />as Contractor and Mr. Jack Dillon, Director of Environmental <br />Services submitted to the Board Change Order Nos. 4 and 5 for the <br />above referred to project, indicating a net deduct of $340.00, as <br />follows: <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 <br />INCREASE• $ 1,010.00 <br />NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $278,281.00 <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 5 <br />DECREASE: $ 1,350.00 <br />NEW CONTRACT AMOUNT INCLUDING C.O.: $276,931.00 <br />Mr. Dillon noted that Change Order No. 4 is for aluminum <br />jacketing protection of the new insulation in the Compressor <br />Building Basement. These pipes are frequently subjected to water <br />dripping from the engine cooling system on the floor above. <br />Additionally, Change Order No. 5 is a deduct for the reinsulation <br />of piping in the basement of the Administration building. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above Change Order Nos. 4 and 5 indicating the <br />new final costs were approved as submitted. <br />APPROVE RE( <br />7TH ANNUAL <br />SUNBURST MARATHON AND 10K ROAD RACES - JUNE 9. 1990 <br />BEND TRIBUNE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on January 29, 1990 and approval is <br />recommended. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY REPORT - JANUARY <br />The Humane Society report for the month of January indicating the <br />types and number of animals handled for the City of South Bend <br />was submitted to the Board for filing. Ms. Humphreys made a <br />motion that the report be accepted and filed. Mrs. DeClercq <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of seventy-eight (78) properties cleaned from February 5, <br />1990 to February 9, 1990, was submitted. Upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the report <br />as submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Walsh and Kelly, <br />Inc., W & K Equipment Company, Inc.; Thomas Walsh, 1700 East Main <br />Street, Griffith, In was accepted for filing as submitted. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, Employment Training <br />Services of St. Joseph County, submitted a list containing one <br />hundred fifty-three (153) claims and recommended approval. <br />
