REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 30, 1991 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:33 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 1991, by Board Member Patricia E. DeClercq, with Mrs. DeClercq and Ms. Katherine Humphreys present. Board President John E. Leszczynski was not in attendance. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Mazy H. Mueller. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, a Consent to Subordinate Note and Mortgage was added to the agenda. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys., seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on December 16, 1991, were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - FERRIC CHLORIDE, SULFUR DIOXIDE AND CHLORINE (BUREAU OF WASTEWATER) This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to chemicals. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Mrs. DeClercq noted that The Wecco Corporation, 28 Kenton Lands Road, P.O. Box 18580, Erlanger, Kentucky and Van Waters & Rogers, 59865 Market Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that they decline to bid at this time. Additionally, Board Attorney Mary H. Mueller informed members of the Board that the bid submitted by Eaglebrook, Inc., 1150 Junction Avenue, Schererville, Indiana, did not contain bid security. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the bid submitted by Eaglebrook, Inc., be rejected as it did not contain the required bid security and was there unresponsive. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. The following bids were opened and publicly read: PB&S CHEMICAL COMPANY 6471 South 50 West Columbus, Indiana 47201 Bid was signed by Mr. Mark Snider, Branch Manager, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: Chlorine: Unit Price - $ 305.00 per ton Container Deposit - $ 750.00 Sulfur Dioxide: Unit Price - $ 430.00 per ton Container Deposit - $1,200.00 Prices firm for one (1) year. ROWELL CHEMICAL CORPORATION 15 Salt Creek Lane Hinsdale, Illinois 60521 Bid was signed by Mr. Rowell, President, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed and a Certified Check in the amount of $2,625.00 was submitted.
