Under Indiana law, I.C. 36-4-7 - <br />2(c), the Mayor's salary may not be reduced from the prior year's amount. This ordinance increases <br />the Mayor's 2017 salary by 2% over his 2016 salary which is the same as the proposed increase <br />for other non - bargaining employees. <br />I will present this bill to the Common Council at the appropriate committee and council meetings. <br />It is requested that this bill be filed for 1 St reading on September 26, 2016, with 2nd reading, public <br />hearing and Yd reading scheduled for October 10, 2016.
