That package was negotiated and tentatively agreed to by the City's advisory negotiating team and the negotiating team represented by South Bend Firefighter's Local Union # 362; ratified by the members of the Union and then formally approved by the Council and the Mayor A copy of that ordinance is attached and referenced in the proposed ordinance. The proposed ordinance would re -affirm all of the provisions set forth in the 2014 ordinance as originally passed approving the 3 -year package, pursuant to Indiana Code § 36- 8 -3 -3, which requires annual compensation to be established before November 1 st of each year. A similar re- affirmation ordinance was passed last year by the Common Council which re- affirmed the provisions for this calendar year. I request that the Health and Public Safety Committee review this Bill which is a required formality; and that the proposed ordinance have first reading on September 26, 2016; with 2nd reading, public hearing and 3rd reading at the October 10, 2016 Common Council meeting.
