REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 5, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:33 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 1991, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski. Also present were Board members Patricia E. <br />DeClercq and Katherine Humphreys as well as Board Attorney Jenny <br />Pitts Manier. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on July 29, 1991, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - MICHIGAN STREET CURB AND BRICK RESTORATION <br />PROJECT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. It is noted <br />that the Engineer's Estimate for this project is $101,000.00. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />KANKAKEE VALLEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY. INC. <br />P.O. Box 1471 <br />LaPorte, Indiana 46350 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. James B. Nelson, President, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a five per cent <br />(50) Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: $193,770.00 <br />Alternate 1: Block B + Block C: $98,000.00 <br />L.L. GEANS & SONS, INC. <br />56535 Magnetic Drive <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Rocky R. Geans, President, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a five per cent <br />(50) Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: $129,744.08 <br />Alternate 1: Block B + Block C: $65,152.33 <br />ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br />1005 South Lafayette, Box 1106 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46624 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Ben Ziolkowski, President, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a five per cent <br />(50) Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: $157,198.37 <br />Alternate 1: Block B + Block C: $81,582.90 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering <br />Department, Ken Herceg and Associates and the Department of <br />Economic Development for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to service.
