REGULAR MEETING <br />JUL`I 22, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:32 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 1991, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski. Also present was Board member Patricia E. DeClercq <br />and Chief Deputy City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. Board member <br />Katherine Humphreys was not in attendance. <br />AGENDA ITEM STRICKEN <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, Change Order No. 1 - Underground Motor Fuel Storage <br />Tanks, Removal of Old 'Tanks and Dispensing Equipment <br />Installation, was stricken from the agenda at this time. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />4nd carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on July 15, 1991, were approved. <br />OPENING OF QUOTATION - CLEANING AND DISPOSAL OF PIT WASTES - <br />TORRINGTON WEST FACILITY <br />This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />Quotations for the above referred to project. The following <br />Quotation was opened and read: <br />SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES, INC. <br />1122 Division Street <br />P.O. Box 582 <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Dan Wilson, President. <br />QUOTATION: $30,200.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above Quotation was referred to the Urban <br />Enterprise Association of South Bend for review and <br />recommendation. <br />In response to questions from the news media, Mr. Leszczynski <br />advised that the Torrington building is owned by the UEZ and will <br />be used as a small business incubator. However, before it can be <br />utilized for that purpose and space can be rented out, there are <br />a number of things they have to do including waste removal. Mr. <br />Leszczynski noted that the UEZ and the Torrington company will <br />pay for this clean-up and that no City funds will be utilized in <br />this regard. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - POLYMER <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for polymer to be utilized at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />-The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />STOCKHAUSEN, INC. <br />2408 Doyle Street <br />Greensboro, North Carolina 27406 <br />Bid was ,signed by Mr. Peter R. Wasmer, President, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination <br />Commitment form was completed and a ten per cent (10a) Bid <br />Bond was submitted. <br />BID: 30,000/lb./yr. Praestol 644BC $1.71/lb. <br />Total: $51,300.00 <br />Delivered FOB City of South Bend Wastewater Plant <br />Lead time: Three (3) days after receipt of order. <br />
