<br />Additionally, the Department of Redevelopment requested that the
<br />Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the demolition of the
<br />following buildings:
<br />1. 114 North Walnut
<br />2. 1154 West Washington
<br />3. 1247-49 West Washington
<br />4. 1217-21 West Washington
<br />5. 1302-04 1/2 West Washington.
<br />Mr. Norris noted that the above mentioned five (5) buildings
<br />either do not have any asbestos in them or have had the asbestos
<br />removed in accordance with federal and state regulations. He
<br />further noted that all of the above properties are within the
<br />West Washington -Chapin Development Area and are owned by the
<br />South Bend Department of Redevelopment.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this request be approved.
<br />Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.

<br />Father John F. Pfister, Pastor, St. Mary of the Assumption
<br />Church, 3501 South Locust Road, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />requested permission to close a portion of Assumption Drive
<br />on Sunday, August 18, 1991 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. in
<br />conjunction with the Annual Parish Festival.
<br />OF KIDS KLUB OF CHIPPEWA HEIGHTS WESLEYAN CHURCH TO CONDUCT
<br />PARADE - JULY 20, 1991
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Doris E. Zeiger, Director of
<br />Children's Ministries, Chippewa Heights Wesleyan Church, 3712
<br />South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested
<br />permission to conduct a Kid's Klub Parade on Saturday, July
<br />20, 1991 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a rain date of July 27,
<br />1991. Ms. Zeiger noted that the parade will begin in the
<br />church parking lot and proceed north on the alley east of lot
<br />to Klinger Street, Klinger to St. Joseph Street, St. Joseph
<br />Street south to Sherwood, Sherwood east to Fellows Street,
<br />Fellows Street south to Southmore Circle (Langley and
<br />Montgolfier), Southmore Circle west to Fellows Street, Fellow
<br />Street south to Chippewa Avenue and Chippewa Avenue west to
<br />the alley and north to the parking lot.
<br />TO CLOSE DALE STREET, BETWEEN IRVINGTON AND ECKMAN, FOR
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - JULY 6, 1991
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Candy Howell, 921 East Eckman,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, and Ms. Ruth Chapman, 1020 Irvington,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close Dale
<br />Street, between the 900 .and 1000 blocks of Irvington and
<br />Eckman Street, for the 5th annual neighborhood block party on
<br />Saturday, July 6, 1991 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq
<br />and carried, the above requests were referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation.
