75 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 11. 1991 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS FOR PAVEMENT <br />AND CURB WORK AND LANDSCAPING - DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL <br />SERVICES <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, Division <br />of Environmental Services, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the following projects for the Division <br />of Environmental Services at 1111 Riverside Drive: <br />Project 41 - Pavement and curb work. This includes two (2) <br />parking lots and widening of some existing <br />pavement. <br />Project #2 - Landscaping on the east and west sides of <br />Riverside Drive. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE RE <br />WATERTIGHT <br />SE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS FOR SIX (6 <br />CONTAINERS AND FOUR (4) 40 YD. OPEN <br />TOP ROLL OFF CONTAINERS <br />In a letter to the Board Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, Bureau <br />of Sanitation, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt <br />of bids for six (6) watertight 15 yard roll off containers and <br />four (4) 40 yard open top roll off containers. <br />TO <br />15 YD. ROLL OFF <br />Mr. Kruszynski noted that these containers will be used by the <br />Department of Sanitation to carry grit from the Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant and scrap from various City owned sites <br />throughout the City to the landfill on a daily basis. This bid <br />reflects additional equipment being added to the fleet and will <br />not show a trade-in. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion <br />that the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE <br />TO USE CITY -OWNED FACILITIES AS POLLING PLACES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter <br />from Mr. Kenneth P. Fedder, Chairman, St. Joseph County <br />Democratic Central Committee, P.O. Box 1375, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requesting permission and approval to use the following <br />City -owned facilities as polling places for the May 7, 1991 <br />Primary election and November 5, 1991 General Election and all <br />future primary and general elections: <br />- Leeper Park <br />- Fire <br />Station <br />#2 <br />- Pinhook Pavilion <br />- Fire <br />Station <br />#3 <br />- Martin Luther King Center <br />- Fire <br />Station <br />#5 <br />- LaSalle Recreation Center <br />- Fire <br />Station <br />#6 <br />- LaSalle Fillmore Center <br />- Fire <br />Station <br />#7 <br />- Potawatomi Greenhouse <br />- Fire <br />Station <br />49 <br />- North East Neighborhood Center <br />- Fire <br />Station <br />#10 <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this request be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUEST OF FOREST SIGN AND DISPLAY, INC TO REMOVE OLD SIGN AT <br />1905 MIAMI (JOVI'S LOUNGE) AND INSTALL NEW SIGN - REFERRED <br />Mr. Brian Jesswein, Forest Sign & Display, Inc., 2729 South Main <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to remove the <br />existing sign at Jovi's Lounge, 1905 Miami Street, South Bend <br />Indiana and replace it with a new illuminated sign as described <br />in detail in the request. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />request be referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />
