M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 21, 1991 <br />Mr. Norris informed the Board that all of the above properties <br />are within the West Washington -Chapin Development Area and are <br />owned by the South Bend Department of Redevelopment. Mrs. <br />DeClercq made a motion that the request as submitted be <br />approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - PAINTING <br />BASEMENTS AND TUNNELS - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />Mr. Karl R. Kopec, Operations Manager, Environmental Services, <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />painting the basements and tunnels at the South Bend Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant. Mr. Kopec advised that the painting will <br />include all piping and walls. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that <br />the request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF OFFICE OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS TO CONDUCT 16TH <br />ANNUAL WORLD'S LARGEST GARAGE SALE - JUNE 1, 1991 <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Susan O'Connor, Events <br />Coordinator, Office of Community Affairs, requested permission to <br />hold the 16th Annual World's Largest Garage Sale on Saturday, <br />June 1, 1991 at the Jefferson and St. Joe Municipal Parking <br />Garage. Ms. O'Connor advised that in addition to standard <br />traffic controls, she would also like to request crowd control <br />and paramedic on -call coverage. These safety measures are <br />necessary between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. but crowd control is <br />not needed until 8:30 a.m. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE TO CONDUCT 8TH ANNUAL <br />SUNBURST MARATHON, 5K AND 10K FOOT RACES - JUNE 8, 1991 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request, which was <br />submitted to the Board on January 7, 1991, and approval is <br />recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />recommendations be accepted and the request be approved. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL FOUR (4) CANOPIES AT <br />"DOCWEEDS" (FORMER J.C. PENNY BUILDING) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the request submitted by City Awning <br />on December 17, 1990, to install four (4) canopies at "Docweeds" <br />which is the former J.C. Penny building, has been reviewed by the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus and based on that <br />review, approval of the request is recommended. Therefore, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL CANOPY AT CATERING BY <br />BILLIES 1103 E. WAYNE STREET) <br />Mr. Leszczynski informed the Board that the above referred to <br />request which was submitted to the Board on December 17, 1990, <br />has been reviewed by the various City departments and bureaus and <br />at this time approval is recommended. Ms. Humphreys therefore <br />made a motion that the request to install the canopy at Catering <br />by Billies at 103 East Wayne Street, be approved. Mrs. DeClercq <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Memorial Health <br />System, Inc., etal, 205 West Jefferson, Suite 600, South Bend, <br />Indiana, was accepted and filed. <br />
