REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 21, 1992 <br />mortgage survey commissioned by Mishawaka Federal Savings and <br />Loan, the estate has learned that Mr. Stout's wooden deck <br />encroaches two (2) feet on the public alleyway. Because of this <br />encroachment it is impossible for the estate to sell the property <br />without the grant of temporary easement. <br />Therefore, Mrs. Mueller noted that she has prepared the requested <br />temporary easement and therefore makes a motion that the Easement <br />be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />- OF THE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. FOUNDATION INC. OF SAINT <br />JOSEPH COUNTY TO CONDUCT ANNUAL MARCH - JANUARY 18 1993 - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Gladys Muhammad, The Martin <br />Luther King Jr. Foundation, Inc. of Saint Joseph County, 914 <br />Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the 8th <br />annual Martin Luther King Jr._ community -wide celebration will <br />be held on Monday, January 18, 1993. The program will begin <br />at 7:30 a.m. with the annual Appreciation Breakfast at the <br />Century Center. Additional activities will continue at the <br />Century Center throughout the day. Once again they are <br />requesting permission to conduct their annual traditional <br />March from the County -City Building to the Century Center on <br />Monday, January 18, 1993 beginning at approximately 1:15 <br />p.m. Ms. Muhammad noted that they will gather in the lobby <br />of the County -City Building where LaSalle High School will <br />hold a brief program. They will then march down Jefferson <br />Boulevard to Saint Joseph Street. <br />REQUEST OF ST. JOE VALLEY CHAPTER OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS <br />TO CONDUCT MARCH FOR LIFE - JANUARY 17 1992 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. James T. Riordan, Knights of <br />Columbus Council 553, P.O. Box 774, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested permission to conduct their annual "March for <br />Life" on Sunday, January 17, 1993 beginning at 1:30 p.m. <br />Mr. Riordan noted that they will assemble in the parking <br />lot of the Knights of Columbus at 525 East Washington Street <br />and then proceed to march south on Hill Street to Jefferson <br />Boulevard, west on Jefferson to Wayne Street and then <br />west on Wayne to St. Patrick's Church on Taylor. As in the <br />past, this will be a peaceful, organized March. Marchers <br />will then make their way back to the Knights of Columbus <br />independently. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, recommended <br />that the following Contractors Bonds be released: <br />- Jessie Stacy <br />3602 Mishawaka Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Majority Builders, Inc. <br />62900 U.S. 31 South <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Effective 12-21-92 <br />Effective 12-21-92 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bonds were <br />released. <br />t <br />1 <br />
