REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 14, 1992 WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-9 authorizes the Board of Public Works to trade in or exchange City -owned property for partial or full reduction in the purchase price of property of similar nature. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The following described property shall be traded -in for the following described property of a similar nature: PROPERTY TO BE TRADED -IN: UNIT #227 1984 FORD T/A DUMP UNIT #269 1982 FORD T/A DUMP TRUCK VIN.#1FDYW90J5EVA50851 TRUCK VIN.#1FDYW80U7CVA20803 PROPERTY TO BE PURCHASED: TWO (2) 1993 FORD LNT8000 TANDEM AXLE DUMP TRUCKS COMPLETE 2. That the latter described property, in No. 1 immediately above, shall be purchased from Shamrock Ford Truck Sales, 4707 West Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, for the amount of $113,106.00 which includes a trade-in value of $17,000.00 for the property, in No. 1 immediately above. 3. That the traded in or exchanged property, to wit: UNIT #227 1984 FORD T/A DUMP TRUCK VIN.#1FDYW90J5EVA50851 UNIT #269 1982 FORD T/A DUMP TRUCK VIN.#1FDYW80U7CVA20803 shall be removed from the inventory of the City of South Bend. Parmerlee, Clerk APPROVE DISTRIBUTION EASEMENT - INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER COMPANY Mr. Leszczynski advised that Indiana Michigan Power Company has submitted to the Board a Distribution Easement which they are requesting which is located within the boundaries of the Erskine Golf Course and the portion of Walter Street that lies South of Lot 1 Parkside Terrace Manor Subdivision and north of Lot 6 Huffmans First Addition. This Easement is necessary to provide power to a new well field at Erskine Golf Course. It was noted that this Easement has been reviewed by the Engineering Department, Water Works, Park Department and Legal Department and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Easement be approved and executed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - ONE (1) 1500 G.P.M. TRIPLE COMBINATION MOTORIZED PUMPING FIRE APPARATUS Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised the Board that after careful review of the bid submitted on December 7, 1992, for the above referred to fire apparatus, the Department recommends that the Board award the bid of Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., P.O. Box 2017 2600 American Drive, Appleton, Wisconsin, as represented by its agent Midwest Fire and Safety Equipment Company, Inc., 1605 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, by Mr. Tom Frederick, 50956 Lincolnshire Trail, Granger, Indiana, for the construction of one (1) 1500 GPM triple combination motorized pumping fire apparatus.
