,'975 REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 2, 1992 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:34 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 1992, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Mary H. Mueller present. AGENDA ITEMS ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following items were added to the agenda: 1. Request to advertise for the receipt of bids for Pump No. 3 Drive Replacement Project 2. Request to conduct March - November 10, 1992 APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on October 26, 1992, were approved. OPENING OF BID --THREE (3) MORE OR LESS USED FOUR (4) DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bid was opened and publicly read: GATES CHEVROLET CORPORATION 401 South Lafayette Boulevard South Bend, Indiana 46601 Bid was signed by Mr. Charles J. Lindzy, Fleet Manager, Non - Collusion Affidavit was in order and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: Three (3) or more or less, used 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier four (4) door sedans as per specifications Net Price Each: $8,699.00 Alternate Bid: Three (3) or more or less, used 1992 Chevrolet Corsica four (4) door sedans as per specifications Net Price Each: $8,675.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above bid was referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 43-1992 - DISPOSAL OF SERVICE REVOLVER Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak informed members of the Board that Corporal Hiram Bonds has retired in good standing, from the South Bend Police Department, effective October 21, 1992, after twenty-five (25) years of service. Chief Marciniak stated that in keeping with Section 2-124 of the Municipal Code of the City, it is requested that the Board of Public Works declare Corporal Bonds' service revolver as surplus property and no longer useful to the City. This declaration will authorize the presentation of the firearm to Corporal Bonds as a tribute for his service to the City. Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the appropriate Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution No. 43-1992 was adopted:
