,'975 <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 2, 1992 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:34 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 1992, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. <br />Mary H. Mueller present. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following items were added to the agenda: <br />1. Request to advertise for the receipt of bids for Pump No. <br />3 Drive Replacement Project <br />2. Request to conduct March - November 10, 1992 <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on <br />October 26, 1992, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BID --THREE (3) MORE OR LESS USED FOUR (4) DOOR <br />SEDAN AUTOMOBILES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bid was opened and publicly read: <br />GATES CHEVROLET CORPORATION <br />401 South Lafayette Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Charles J. Lindzy, Fleet Manager, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order and a ten per cent (10%) <br />Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: <br />Three (3) or more or less, used 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier <br />four (4) door sedans as per specifications <br />Net Price Each: $8,699.00 <br />Alternate Bid: <br />Three (3) or more or less, used 1992 Chevrolet Corsica <br />four (4) door sedans as per specifications <br />Net Price Each: $8,675.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the above bid was referred to the Fire Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 43-1992 - DISPOSAL OF SERVICE REVOLVER <br />Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak informed members of the Board <br />that Corporal Hiram Bonds has retired in good standing, from the <br />South Bend Police Department, effective October 21, 1992, after <br />twenty-five (25) years of service. Chief Marciniak stated that <br />in keeping with Section 2-124 of the Municipal Code of the City, <br />it is requested that the Board of Public Works declare Corporal <br />Bonds' service revolver as surplus property and no longer useful <br />to the City. This declaration will authorize the presentation of <br />the firearm to Corporal Bonds as a tribute for his service to the <br />City. <br />Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the appropriate <br />Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution <br />No. 43-1992 was adopted: <br />
