494 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 1, 1992 <br />OPENING OF BIDS - GRIT CHANNEL REBUILDING - SOUTH BEND WASTEWATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Powell Construction Company, Inc., <br />1713 South Bend Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised that due to <br />prior commitments, they will not be submitting a bid for this <br />project. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />INDUSTRIAL INSTALLATIONS, INC. <br />55587 Currant Road <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Dennis L. Bobson, President/Owner, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination <br />Commitment form was completed and a Cashier's Check in the <br />amount of $1,488.00 was submitted. <br />BID: $29,760.00 <br />KASER-_SPRAKER CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br />25487 West State Road 2 <br />P.O. Box 3605 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Gary L. Spraker, President, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination <br />Commitment form was completed and a five per cent (5%) <br />Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: $37,890.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Division of <br />Engineering for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT AREA - AVANTI <br />BUTLDTNG- <br />ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - (BID PACKAGE <br />- UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK_CLOSURE/ <br />This was the date set for receiving <br />for the above referred to project. <br />publication of Notice in the South <br />Tri-County News which were found to <br />REMOVAL (BID PACKAGE #2) <br />and opening of sealed bids <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />Bend Tribune and the <br />be sufficient. <br />Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller informed members of the <br />Board that for the record, the second part of this bid for <br />underground storage tank closure/removal was withdrawn and <br />therefore the Board will not be opening bids for this portion of <br />the project. It is noted that pursuant to an Addendum that was <br />distributed to the bidders, this portion of the project has been <br />cancelled at this time and will be rebid once building demolition <br />has progressed sufficiently to establish the size and contents of <br />all three (3) tanks. <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Brand Environmental Services, Inc., <br />Five Westbrook Corporate Center, Suite 800, Westchester, <br />Illinois, advised that due to their current abatement activity, <br />they will decline to bid on this project at this time. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />J <br />1 <br />
