REGULAR MEETING JUNE 1; 1992 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 1992, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Mary H. Mueller present. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on May 26, 1992 were approved. OPENING AND AWARD OF BID - ONE (1) 1500 G.P.M. TRIPLE COMBINATION This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Mr. Leszczynski noted that Fessco - Centurion Twin Cities, Inc., 1441 South llth Street, P.O. Box 606, Niles, Michigan, indicated that they will not be submitting a bid for this equipment at this time. The following bid was opened and publicly read: PIERCE MANUFACTURING, INC. 2600 American Drive Appleton, WI 54915 As submitted by: MR. THOMAS L. FREDERICK 50956 Lincolnshire, Granger, Indiana AUTHORIZED SALES REPRESENTATIVE for MIDWEST FIRE & SAFETY EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC. 1605 Prospect Street Indianapolis, Indiana 46203 Bid was signed by Mr. Thomas L. Frederick, authorized representative for Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: One (1) Pierce Class "A" Triple Combination Fire Fighting Apparatus mounted on a Stock Dash 4-Door Chassis complete unit #E-6871. Cash Price: $192,995.00 Delivery: Delivery to be in approximately seven (7) days after signing of contract. Note: Optional equipment is bid separately. See optional equipment pages included in bid. Prices not included in above price. Sale subject to availability at time of approval. This is a stock unit on a "first come -first serve" basis. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above bid was referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. Following that review, Chief Taylor advised that he would like to recommend that the Board award the bid of Pierce Manufacturing Company as represented by Midwest Fire & Safety Equipment Company, Inc., 1605 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Chief Taylor noted that the bid of Pierce was $192,995.00 and closely followed the City's specifications. In addition, they would like to include in this bid award a list of equipment, listed as options in the bid, at a cost of $17,424.50 making the total amount of this award $210,419.50.
