REGULAR MEETING JUNE 1; 1992 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 1992, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. <br />Mary H. Mueller present. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on <br />May 26, 1992 were approved. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BID - ONE (1) 1500 G.P.M. TRIPLE COMBINATION <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Fessco - Centurion Twin Cities, <br />Inc., 1441 South llth Street, P.O. Box 606, Niles, Michigan, <br />indicated that they will not be submitting a bid for this <br />equipment at this time. <br />The following bid was opened and publicly read: <br />PIERCE MANUFACTURING, INC. <br />2600 American Drive <br />Appleton, WI 54915 <br />As submitted by: <br />MR. Frederick, authorized <br />representative for Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form <br />was completed and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />BID: <br />One (1) Pierce Class "A" Triple Combination Fire Fighting <br />Apparatus mounted on a Stock Dash 4-Door Chassis complete <br />unit #E-6871. Cash Price: $192,995.00 <br />Delivery: Delivery to be in approximately seven (7) days <br />after signing of contract. <br />Note: Optional equipment is bid separately. See <br />optional equipment pages included in bid. Prices <br />not included in above price. <br />Sale subject to availability at time of approval. <br />This is a stock unit on a "first come -first serve" <br />basis. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the above bid was referred to the Fire Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />Following that review, Chief Taylor advised that he would like to <br />recommend that the Board award the bid of Pierce Manufacturing <br />Company as represented by Midwest Fire & Safety Equipment <br />Company, Inc., 1605 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. <br />Chief Taylor noted that the bid of Pierce was $192,995.00 and <br />closely followed the City's specifications. In addition, they <br />would like to include in this bid award a list of equipment, <br />listed as options in the bid, at a cost of $17,424.50 making the <br />total amount of this award $210,419.50. <br />
