REGULAR MEETING MARCH 23, 1992 Mrs. Mueller made a motion that and the bid as outlined above be the motion which carried. . the recommendation be accepted approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded REQUEST OF CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE TO CONDUCT OPENING DAY PARADE - MAY 2, 1992 - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Ms. Georgia Campbell, President, Chet Waggoner Little League, 1846 North Huey Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct its Annual Opening Day Parade on Saturday, May 2, 1992. The route to be utilized is as follows: Begin at Coveleski Stadium west parking lot, proceed North on Taylor Street to Washington Street, east on Washington to William Street, north on William to Portage Avenue, north on Portage to Boland Drive, east on Boland to Riverside Drive, north on Riverside to the Chet Waggoner Park entrance which is located at the rear of the St. Joseph County Highway Garage at 3301 Riverside Drive. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST OF TURNER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY ON WASHINGTON STREET IN FRONT OF VALLEY AMERICAN BANK Mr. Leszczynski noted that on March 2, 1992, Ms. Mae Keshavarz, Assistant Engineer, Turner Construction Company, 230 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, Illinois, submitted an application for a permit allowing temporary use of the public right-of-way for the installation of a sidewalk bridge and pedestrian walkway adjacent to the Valley American Bank Building for a period of two (2) to three (3) months. It is noted that this request has been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request be approved subject to the Contractor providing to the City a Bond in the amount of $50,000.00 and a Certificate of Insurance, naming the City of South Bend as additional insured in the amounts of $300,000.00 per occurance and $5,000,000.00 aggregate. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE PAYMENT REOUISITION AND CERTIFICATE FOR PAYMENT Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a South Bend Redevelopment Authority Parking Garage Facility Construction Fund Payment Requisition and Certificate for Payment of the Board of Public Works. It is noted that this is Certificate No. 24 and indicates that the Payee is Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc., P.O. Box 3605, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $25,325.00 for the St. Joseph/Wayne Street Parking Garage Additional Metal Security Screen Project. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Certificate be approved and executed. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Engineering Department has recommended that Contractor's Bond for Jimmie Poindexter be approved effective March 23, 1992. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, the above bond was approved.
