REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1992 <br />11 <br />1 <br />Raymond D. Carlson, President, St. Joseph County Farm Bureau, <br />Inc. In consideration and permission to tap into the City's <br />public sanitary sewer system, Farm Bureau waives and releases any <br />right to remonstrate against the pending or future annexation of <br />their real estate. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that <br />the Consent be accepted and approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 5-1992 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE VEHICLE (FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a letter <br />from Fire Chief Luther Taylor indicating that with the recent <br />delivery of two (2) fire trucks, the Department has a vehicle <br />which is no longer needed or used for the purpose intended. <br />Chief Taylor further noted that a market exists for used fire <br />trucks and it is his intention to make this vehicle available for <br />sale. Therefore, Chief Taylor asked that the Board take whatever <br />steps are necessary so they may dispose of the vehicle within the <br />guidelines as set by Indiana Code. <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the appropriate Resolution has been <br />prepared and submitted to the Board for adoption. Therefore, <br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Resolution be adopted. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried and the following <br />Resolution No. 5-1992 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTI <br />ON DISPOS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5-1992 <br />[E SOUTH BEN: <br />AL OF UNFIT_ <br />D OF PUBLIC <br />/OR OBSOLETE <br />TY <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />that the following property is unfit for the purpose for which it <br />was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />ONE (1) 1985 PIERCE MIDI PUMPER <br />MODEL FA-CM-1000-501 G.M.C. TOP KICK <br />VIN. #1GDM7DlY5GV506 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, that the item listed above is no <br />longer needed by the City; is unfit for the purpose for which it <br />was intended and has an estimated value of one thousand dollars <br />($1,000.00) or more. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be sold by sealed <br />bids delivered to the office of the Board of Public Works on or <br />before the date published as the bid opening date after <br />advertising the property for sale, in accordance with Indiana <br />Code 5-3-1. <br />ADOPTED this loth day of February, 1992. <br />ATTEST! <br />s/Sandra M.
