REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 13, 1993 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:36 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 1993, by Board President John <br />E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Mr. James R. Caldwell <br />present. Board member Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier was not in <br />attendance. Also present was Board Attorney Mrs. Mary H. Mueller. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on September 7, 1993, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF ONE (1) 1985 PIERCE MIDI PUMPER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids of the sale of the above <br />referred to pumper. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient., The following bids were opened and <br />read: <br />CLEVELAND TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT INC. <br />51233 County Road 5 N <br />Elkhart, Indiana 46514 <br />Bid was submitted by Mr. Steven W. Clark, Secretary. <br />BID: $58,000.00 <br />MR. JERRY HARDMAN <br />227 Village Way <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Jerry Hardman. <br />BID: $200.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Fire Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - APPROXIMATELY 3/4 <br />ACRE LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE CITY'S MUNICIPAL SERVICES <br />FACILITY <br />Mr. Leszczynski reminded members of the Board that pursuant to <br />state statutes regarding the sale of City -owned property, this was <br />the date set for the receiving of sealed bids for the sale of a <br />part of Parcel No. 3 in the Inner Belt Industrial Park located <br />west of the City's Municipal Services Facility. It was noted that <br />this property was appraised at $9,600.00. Mr. Leszczynski noted <br />that no bids were received by the Board at this time. <br />Board Attorney Mary H. Mueller informed the Board that this <br />property will remain open for bids for one week with bidding <br />closing at 9:30 a.m., Monday, September 20, 1993. Mrs. Mueller <br />noted that she believes the City will receive a bid from an <br />interested purchaser. <br />It is noted that a Public Hearing will be held concerning this <br />sale at 9:30 a.m. on September 20, 1993. At the Hearing all <br />interested parties may appear and be heard and/or present relevant <br />material with regard to the matter under consideration. <br />APPROVE ESCROW AGREEMENT - BLACKTHORN GOLF COURSE CLUBHOUSE <br />OUTINGS SHELTER AND PUMP HOUSE PROJECT <br />Submitted to the Board for approval was an Escrow Agreement <br />between the City, Ziolkowski Construction, Inc., 1005 South <br />
