Committeemember Voorde asked if the neighborhood association in the area is on board. <br />Councilmember Regina Williams- Preston stated that she hasn't heard from anyone in the <br />association. She mentioned that they know the work is happening there, but they haven't <br />expressed any negative thoughts or ideas about the project. <br />Councilmember Dr. David Varner asked if there are plans for the large piece of land that would <br />be left unused. <br />Mr. Danch stated there will be a track there for the firefighters and potentially the public, but <br />other than that it will be left as an open space. <br />Councilmember Williams- Preston stated that Chief Cox had talked about engaging the residents <br />in the process with what kinds of things they would like to see there for that new green space, <br />and Mr. Danch stated that they are putting the sidewalks back as a result of the public input. <br />Committeemember Voorde moved for a favorable recommendation, it was seconded by <br />Committeemember Gavin Ferlic and carried by a voice vote of four (4) ayes. <br />Committee Chqir-_Davis adjourned the meeting at 3:36 p.m. <br />Ol'Ker Dakisl,Committee <br />2 <br />
