Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and
Mrs. Mary H. Mueller present.
APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski
and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held
on February 8, 1993, were approved.
ADOPT-
- RESOLUTION NO. 8-1993 - ACCEPTING THE TRANSFER OF REAL
PROPERTY FROM THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
- RESOLUTION NO. 9-1993 - APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF REAL
PROPERTY TO SOUTHHOLD RESTORATIONS, INC.
- RESOLUTION NO. 10-1993 - APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF AN
ADDENDUM TO SUBLEASE
- RESOLUTION NO. 11-1993 - APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF A
TERMINATION OF SUBLEASE
APPROVE CONTRACT FOR SALE OF LAND BETWEEN THE CITY AND SOUTHHOLD
RESTORATIONS, INC.
Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller advised that Resolution
Nos. 8-1993 through 11-1993 and the Contract for Sale of Land
Between the City and Southhold Restorations, Inc., all relate to
a parcel of property located at 312 East South Street.
Mrs. Mueller noted that this property was previously leased by
the Redevelopment Authority to the City. At that time the City
subleased the property to Housing Development Corporation. The
property was never used by the Housing Development Corporation.
Now, Southhold Restorations would like to have the property to
relocate a house that is being moved.
Therefore, the documents submitted to the Board today allow the
City to get out of the sublease with Housing Development
Corporation. Resolution No. 8-1993 transfers the property from
the Redevelopment Authority to the City, Resolution No. 9-1993,
transfers the property to Southhold Restorations, Inc.,
Resolution No. 10-1993 amends the Sublease with the Redevelopment
Authority and Resolution No. 11-1993 terminates the Sublease.
Additionally submitted was the appropriate Contract between the
City and Southhold Restorations, Inc., whereby Southhold has
agreed to use the property within one (1) year or the property
reverts back to the City.
Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the Resolutions,
Addendum to Sublease, Termination of Sublease and Contract for
Sale of Land for Private Redevelopment, be adopted, approved and
executed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried and the
following Resolutions were adopted:
RESOLUTION NO. 8-1993
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
ACCEPTING THE TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY
FROM THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Authority (the
"Authority") is the owner of the following -described real
property situated in St. Joseph County, Indiana:
A parcel of land in the Southwest Quarter of Section
12, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, City of South
Bend, Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana,
