REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 12, 1994 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:34 a.m. on Monday, <br />December 12, 1994, by Board Member James R. Caldwell, with Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. <br />Board President John E. Leszczynski was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne <br />Bruneel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING AND SPECIAL MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting and the special meeting of the Board held on December 5, 1994, and December 6, <br />1994, respectively, were approved. <br />AGENDA ITEM STRICKEN <br />Upon a motion made Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, an agenda item to award <br />bids for radio equipment was stricken from the agenda. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - SALE OF REAL PROPERTY - REAL ESTATE ADJACENT TO ELBEL <br />GOLF COURSE - 51240 REDWOOD ROAD <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning the sale <br />of Real Property adjacent to Elbel Golf Course. Bids for the above referred to property were opened <br />at this time. <br />Penny Fozo <br />7613 North Walker Road <br />New Carlisle, Indiana 46552 <br />Ten percent (10%) bid security was submitted <br />BID: $20,000.00 <br />Sandra L. Creager <br />3324 Hedge Maple Court <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />Ten percent (10%) bid security was submitted <br />BID: $62,025.00 <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the appropriate Bureaus for recommendation. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - MICHIANA <br />VALLEY HAMFEST <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning issuance <br />of a license for transient merchant, as submitted by Mr. Robert L. Denniston, 21970 Kern Road, <br />South Bend, Indiana, to conduct a Michiana Valley Hamfest'95 at the Century Center on Sunday, <br />January 8, 1995, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for the purpose of the sale of amateur radio and <br />computers. Mr. Caldwell noted that favorable recommendations were received by the Police <br />Department, Fire Department and the Building Department. <br />There being no one present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing <br />was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, <br />the application for Transient Merchant License was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />Office for issuance of a license. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SOUND SYSTEM AND DIMMING CONTROL SYSTEM - CENTURY <br />CENTER <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient.
