REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 28, 1994
<br />APPROVAL OF PURCHASE AGREEMENT - IBM
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Mr. Jeff Rinard, Deputy City Controller, has submitted a Purchase
<br />Agreement on behalf of IBM Corporation, I I I Monument Circle, Indianapolis, Indiana, for the
<br />installation of AS/400 computer equipment and support services at the South Bend Police
<br />Department. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the
<br />Purchase Agreement was approved.
<br />REQUEST FOR LICENSE APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT - MICHIANA
<br />VALLEY HAMFEST ASSOCIATION
<br />Mr. Leszczynski informed members that the Board is in receipt of a License Application for
<br />Transient Merchants License, as submitted by Mr. Robert L. Denniston, 21970 Kern Road, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, to conduct a South Bend Hamfest'95 at the Century Center, on January 8, 1995, from
<br />8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Mr. Denniston noted that the Hamfest'95 will conduct the sale of amateur
<br />radios and computers. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and
<br />carried, the request for License application was forwarded to the appropriate Bureaus for
<br />recommendation.
<br />PETITION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A RESIDENTIAL PARKING ZONE - 1300-1400
<br />BLOCKS OF CHESTER STREET
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Steve D. Rudisell, 1421 Chester Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, has submitted a Petition for Establishment of a Residential Parking Zone in the 1300 and
<br />1400 blocks of Chester Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and
<br />carried, the request was forwarded to the appropriate Bureaus for recommendation.
<br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR BOND
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Contractor Bond be released as follows:
<br />T. George Podell & Co., Inc. Released Effective November 28, 1994
<br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be released
<br />as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried.
<br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Department of Code Enforcement has submitted three (3) lists
<br />containing fifty-seven (57) City owned and miscellaneous properties which were cleaned by the
<br />Department from October 31, 1994 through November 14, 1994. Mrs. Manier made a motion that
<br />the lists as submitted be accepted for filing. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.

<br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORT - AUGUST 1994
<br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of the monthly report as submitted by the
<br />Humane Society of St. Joseph County, Inc., for the month of August 1994. The report indicates the
<br />type and number of animals handled for the City of South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion
<br />that the report be accepted for filing as submitted. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE CLAIMS
<br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $1,059,786.23 and
<br />recommended approval. Mrs. Manier made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports
<br />as submitted be filed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Board of Public
<br />Works regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 27, 1994 at 9:30 a.m. has been canceled,
<br />due to the Christmas Holidays. The next regularly scheduled Board of Public Works meeting will
<br />convene on Tuesday, January 3, 1995, at 9:30 a.m.
