REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 18, 1994 <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana. It is noted that Mr. Nanni has <br />applied for this license in order to conduct Fiesta Michiana 194 <br />on the mall in front of the Morris Civic Auditorium on August 20, <br />1994 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br />Mr. Benito Salazar was present and stated that he is the <br />chairperson for this activity and that Mr. Nanni is the executive <br />Director of the LaCasa Youth Center. Mr. Salazar stated that this <br />event is a fundraiser entitled Fiesta Michiana that will be <br />conducted in front of the Morris Civic Auditorium on August 20, <br />1994. Mr. Salazar noted that the event will include food booths, <br />live entertainment as well as arts and crafts booths. <br />It is noted that the Board is in receipt of favorable <br />recommendations concerning this license application from the <br />Police Department, Fire Department and the Building Department. <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board <br />concerning this matter and no written Memorandum in support of or <br />in opposition to the issuance of the license being received, Mrs. <br />Manier made a motion that the Public Hearing on this application <br />be closed and that the application be approved and referred to the <br />Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a license. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND APPROVAL OF TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - RIVER <br />PARK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that today was the day set for a Public <br />Hearing concerning the license application for a Transient <br />Merchants license for Mr. K. R. Palmer, River Park Business <br />Association, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. . <br />Mr. Palmer has applied for a Transient Merchant license, on behalf <br />of the River Park Business Association, to conduct the Annual <br />River Park Festival on Saturday, August 20, 1994 from 8:00 a.m. to <br />4:00 p.m. on the sidewalks on Mishawaka Avenue. <br />Mr. K. R. Palmer, Palmer's Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, <br />South Bend, Indiana, was present and stated that the application <br />is for the River Park annual festival which will include craft and <br />food booths as well as a parade at 10:00 a.m. <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board <br />concerning this matter and no written Memorandum in support of or <br />in opposition to the issuance of the license being received, Mr. <br />Caldwell closed the Public Hearing on this matter. <br />It is noted that the Board is in receipt of favorable <br />recommendations concerning this license application from the <br />Police Department, Fire Department and the Building Department. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the application be <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance of a license. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE ABANDONED VEHICLE AGREEMENT <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Abandoned <br />Vehicle Agreement between the City and the National Kidney <br />Foundation of Indiana, 850 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, <br />Indiana. <br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />informed the Board that this Memorandum of Understanding maps out <br />an agreement that the City has with the National Kidney <br />Foundation.
