REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 13, 1994 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:47 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 1994, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Mr. James R. Caldwell <br />present. Board Member Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier was not in <br />attendance. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />Upon a',motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on June 6, 1994, were approved as submitted. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1711 AND 1713 <br />MARIETTA STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids for the purchase of City - <br />owned property commonly known as 1711'and 1713 Marietta Street. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice which appeared <br />in theSouth Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News. <br />It was noted that these parcels of property have been appraised. <br />The property at 1711 Marietta Street has been appraised at <br />$300.00. The property at 1713 Marietta has been appraised at <br />$100.O9. The following bid was opened and read: <br />MSS. Sandra L. Pfaller <br />634 East Dubail <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />BID: <br />1711 Marietta Street $310.00 <br />1713 Marietta Street $110.00 <br />It was further noted that Ms. Pfaller is an adjacent property <br />owner. There being no other bids received, Mr. Caldwell made a <br />motion that the bids submitted by Ms. Pfaller be accepted. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />PUBLICIHEARING AND APPROVAL OF TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - SCOTT <br />ALLEN gALHOON D/B/A F & S FIREWORKS <br />Mr. Le zczynski stated that this was the date set for the Board's <br />Public Hearing regarding the license application for a Transient <br />Merchant license for Mr. Scott Allen Calhoon, 1130 Beale Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, d/b/a F & S Fireworks, 3006 Ardmore Trail, <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />It is rioted that Mr. Calhoon has applied for this license in order <br />to sell fireworks from June 17, 1994 to July 5, 1994 at 3006 <br />Ardmore Trail, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Mr. Calhoon was present and advised that he intends to sell only <br />legal Indiana fireworks at his business. <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board <br />concerning this matter and no written Memorandum in support of or <br />in opposition to the issuance of the license being received, Mr. <br />Leszcz�nski closed the Public Hearing on this matter. <br />Member of the Board were advised that favorable recommendations <br />concerning this license application have been received from the <br />Police Department, Fire Department and the Building Department. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the application be <br />approv;d and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance of a license. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
