NO. 9 MIXTURE <br />5,000 <br />TON <br />Mr. Littrell noted that he has reviewed those bids and found the <br />amounts correct as read at the meeting. All bids were responsive <br />to the specifications. Mr. Leszczynski seconded <br />th motion which carried. <br />AWARD BIDS/REJECT BIDS/REQUEST TO READVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF <br />BIDS - LIGHT BULBS <br />Mr. George S. Zana, Purchasing Manager, Division of Equipment <br />Services, advised the Board that based on a review of the bids <br />su mitted to the Board on May 2, 1994, for light bulbs, he submits <br />the following recommendations: <br />Reject Items 1 through 64 and re -bid. Thirty (30) of the <br />items bid by two (2) suppliers did not comply with the 2000 <br />hour minimum life specified for this group of bulbs. <br />Further, these items represent seventy-five per cent (75%) of <br />the unit volume. The third vendor to bid only selected items <br />and the product bid far exceeded the required specified <br />minimum life.
