2 13 8 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 16, 1994 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16-1994 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />DISPOSING OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />W EREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, has compiled a current detailed inventory of all real <br />proper y owned by the City of South Bend; and <br />W EREAS, the Board of Public Works has reviewed said <br />inventDry of real property and it finds that certain of the <br />parcels of real estate now owned by the City of South Bend are not <br />necessary to the public use and are not set aside by State and <br />City laws for public purposes; and <br />W EREAS, the Board of Public Works finds that each of the <br />proper ies described below has an assessed valuation of less than <br />$2,000 00, that the cost of maintaining said parcels equals or <br />exceeds the estimated fair market value of the parcels, and that <br />the hi hest and best use of the parcels is sale to an abutting <br />landowner. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works now wishes to take the <br />necessary action to make it possible for the Board, in the future, <br />to sell said parcels of real estate pursuant to State statutes. <br />of the <br />1. <br />)W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />That the parcels of real estate owned by the City <br />located at 1711 and 1713 Marietta Street are <br />not necessary to the public use, are not set <br />aside by State or City laws for public <br />purposes, that the cost of maintaining said <br />parcels equals or exceeds the estimated fair <br />market value of said parcels and the highest <br />and best use of said parcels is sale to an <br />abutting landowner. <br />this 16th day of May, 1994. <br />SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROV§ VEHICLE SALVAGE CONTRACT AND VEHICLE STORAGE CONTRACT <br />Mr. Le zczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a Vehicle <br />SalvagE Contract between the City and Super Auto Salvage, 3300 <br />South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. The Contract indicates <br />that Super Auto shall furnish a storage area and facilities, for <br />the salvage of vehicles determined by the City to be abandoned and <br />valued at less than one hundred dollars ($100.00), at 3300 South <br />Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, from January 1, 1994 through <br />December 31, 1994. The salvage is to be performed at the <br />direction of the Department of Code Enforcement.
