u 162 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 4, 1994 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:33 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 1994, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. <br />Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Anne Bruneel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on <br />March 28, 1994 and the minutes of the Special meeting of the Board <br />held on March 29, 1994, were approved as submitted. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) 35,000 G.V.W. CREW CAB CHASSIS AND <br />REMOUNT THE APPARATUS BODY FROM A 1988 GMC 28,000 G.V.W. RESCUE ON <br />THE NEW CHASSIS <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for <br />the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were <br />opened and read: <br />RENEWED PERFORMANCE, INC. <br />P.O. Box 196 <br />Tipton, Indiana 46072 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Raymond D. <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order, <br />Commitment form was completed and <br />$7,988.40 was submitted. <br />Salati, President, <br />Non -Discrimination <br />a Bid Bond in the <br />Non - <br />amount of <br />BID: $79,844.00 <br />Provide new chassis and remount apparatus body. <br />$ 5,600.00 trade in allowance <br />WHITEFORD FORD TRUCK SALES, INC. <br />4707 Western Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Rich Stopczynski, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form <br />was completed and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />BID: $59,145.00 (net of trade) <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Fire Department for <br />review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - BLACKTHORN GOLF COURSE INTERIOR FINISHES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to <br />project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice which <br />appeared in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. <br />Board Attorney Anne Bruneel informed members of the Board that the <br />bid submitted by Southwest Fixture Company, 1240 Majesty Drive, <br />Dallas, Texas, was not submitted on the required State Board of <br />Accounts Form 95 and did not contain bid security. Therefore, <br />Mrs. Manier made a motion that this bid be rejected. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />Additionally, Mrs. Bruneel advised that the bid submitted by <br />Shafer Commercial Seating, Inc., 4101 East 48th Avenue, Denver, <br />1 <br />
