u 162 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 4, 1994 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:33 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 1994, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Anne Bruneel. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on March 28, 1994 and the minutes of the Special meeting of the Board held on March 29, 1994, were approved as submitted. OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) 35,000 G.V.W. CREW CAB CHASSIS AND REMOUNT THE APPARATUS BODY FROM A 1988 GMC 28,000 G.V.W. RESCUE ON THE NEW CHASSIS This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and read: RENEWED PERFORMANCE, INC. P.O. Box 196 Tipton, Indiana 46072 Bid was signed by Mr. Raymond D. Collusion Affidavit was in order, Commitment form was completed and $7,988.40 was submitted. Salati, President, Non -Discrimination a Bid Bond in the Non - amount of BID: $79,844.00 Provide new chassis and remount apparatus body. $ 5,600.00 trade in allowance WHITEFORD FORD TRUCK SALES, INC. 4707 Western Avenue South Bend, Indiana 46619 Bid was signed by Mr. Rich Stopczynski, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: $59,145.00 (net of trade) Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above bids were referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - BLACKTHORN GOLF COURSE INTERIOR FINISHES Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice which appeared in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Board Attorney Anne Bruneel informed members of the Board that the bid submitted by Southwest Fixture Company, 1240 Majesty Drive, Dallas, Texas, was not submitted on the required State Board of Accounts Form 95 and did not contain bid security. Therefore, Mrs. Manier made a motion that this bid be rejected. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. Additionally, Mrs. Bruneel advised that the bid submitted by Shafer Commercial Seating, Inc., 4101 East 48th Avenue, Denver, 1
