OF NORTH <br />COTTAGE GROVE AVENUE AND WEST GRANDVIEW AVENUE FROM THE E. R-O-W <br />LINE OF N. COTTAGE GROVE TO THE SW R-O-W LINE OF L.W.W. <br />Mr. Leszczynski reminded members of the Board that this matter was <br />tabled at the last meeting in order for the Division of Sanitation <br />to submit their recommendation to the Board. At this time the <br />Board is in receipt of recommendations from all departments that <br />have reviewed this request. As noted last week, the Legal <br />Department, Police Department and Fire Department have no <br />objections to the vacation. The Engineering Department recommends <br />denial of the request, the Area Plan Commission recommends that no <br />dead-end alleys be created and the Department of Community and <br />Economic Development advised that they recommend approval of the <br />street closure but conditional approval of the alley closing. The <br />Division of Sanitation has now advised that they have no <br />objections to this proposed closing. <br />Board member Mrs. Manier inquired of Mr. Steve Luecke, South Bend <br />Heritage Foundation, who was present, whether anyone had any <br />conversations with the property owners to the south of the <br />proposed vacation. Mr. Luecke responded that they did not. Mr. <br />Caldwell noted that the property owners that have garages on the <br />alley will still have access to their garages through the parking <br />lot proposed to be built. Mr. Luecke confirmed that residents <br />will have access through the new parking lot. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Board submit a <br />favorable recommendation to the Common Council concerning this <br />proposed vacation. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - VACATION OF 1ST E/W <br />1ST N/S ALLEY W. OF NORTH OLIVE STREET AND WEST <br />PART OF LOT`39 IN OLIVE HEIGHTS ADDITION <br />Board Attorney Mary H. Mueller reminded members <br />this matter was tabled at the last meeting due <br />regarding the creation of a dead-end alley and <br />description. At that time the Board instructed <br />ALLEY N. OF L.W.W. <br />2' OF LOT 38 & <br />of the Board that <br />to some concerns <br />the legal <br />Mrs. Mueller to <br />meet with the Petitioner to address these concerns. <br />
