<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - COMPUTERIZED SIGNAL SYSTEM, PHASE 2B - PROJECT
<br />NO. 90-03B
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend
<br />and the Indiana Department of Transportation, for construction of the above referred to project. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski stated that this Agreement pledges the City of South Bend to financial responsibility for
<br />a twenty percent (20%) share of the cost of this project, the remaining portion to be paid by the
<br />Federal Highway Administration through the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act.
<br />Funds to meet this obligation have been appropriated in sufficient amount from the Local Roads and
<br />Streets Funds. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and
<br />carried, the Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT RESPECT LIFE MARCH - KNIGHTS
<br />OF COLUMBUS
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Mr. Arthur Leinen, St. Joseph Valley Chapter Knights of Columbus, 19557
<br />Glendale, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to march, on Sunday, January 21, 1996,
<br />from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECOND HAND DEALER
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the following secondhand dealers license application has been received:

<br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department
<br />concerning the above application. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs.
<br />Manier and carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy
<br />Controller's Office for issuance of a license.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO MOVE A HOUSE - 1756 MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO 821
<br />NORTH IRONWOOD DRIVE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Mr. Don Fozo, Building Commissioner, requested permission to move
<br />a house from 1756 Mishawaka Avenue to 821 North Ironwood Drive. Mr. Fozo stated that no
<br />definite date has been made for the move, and the utility companies, South Bend Police Department,
<br />and the Division of Engineering have given favorable recommendations. Further, the appropriate
<br />certificate of insurance has been received. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. Manier and carried, the request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED
<br />VEHICLES c
<br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the sale of approximately twenty-seven (27) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super
<br />Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all
<br />vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto
<br />theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above request was approved.
