REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 21. 1995 <br />AWARD BID - NEAR NORTHWEST PARTNERSHIP CENTER SERVICE AREA - PHASE II - <br />PROJECT NO. 95-52 <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on July 31, 1995, the <br />bid for the above referred to project was awarded to Diamond Associates Development Co., Inc., <br />52042 Beech Road, Granger, Indiana. Mr. Charles T. Compton, President, stated that he would have <br />to decline his bid on this project. After reviewing the bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board <br />award the contract to Rieth Riley Construction, Post Office Box 1775, South Bend, Indiana, who <br />was the second lowest bidder, in the amount of $36,216.95. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME - FURNITURE - REBID <br />Mr. Bernie Kish, Director, College Football Hall of Fame, 111 South St. Joseph, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised the Board that on August 7, 1995, bids were received and opened for the above <br />referred to items. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Kish recommends that the Board award the bids <br />as follows: <br />BUSINESS SYSTEMS INC <br />3618 Grape Road <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 <br />Division 1 <br />$ 6,130.50 <br />Division 3 <br />$1,002.68 <br />TOTAL <br />$ 7,133.18 <br />SPB ENTERPRISES. INC. <br />15834 S. Lakeshore Drive <br />Granger, Indiana 46530 <br />Division 2 $1,393.92 <br />TOTAL $ 1,393.92 <br />Additionally, Mr. Kish noted that at the present time, the Hall of Fame is not ready to furnish the <br />Conference Room, and recommends that all bids for Division 4 - Conference Room be rejected. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be <br />awarded as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - IRRIGATION SYSTEM - STUDEBAKER GOLF COURSE & IRRIGATION <br />UPGRADE - ERKSINE GOLF COURSE <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on August 14, 1995, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to Wissco Irrigation, Inc., 1820 South Bend <br />Avenue, in the amount of $188,475 ($116,445.00 - Studebaker Golf Course; $72,030.00 - Erskine <br />Golf Course). Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the <br />bids be awarded as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - WASHINGTON AVENUE AT CIRCLE AVENUE <br />IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO 95-63 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on August 7, 1995, to Kaser- <br />Spraker Construction Co., 25487 West State Road 2, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$14,777.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for <br />Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, <br />the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and <br />Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed. <br />
