<br />Mr. Miller noted that the bid of J&K Communications bid for mobile and control stations be
<br />rejected, as their primary and alternate equipment does not meet all specifications, with no exception
<br />requested.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be
<br />awarded as outlined above. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION - CHALFANT HEIGHTS ENTRANCE SIGNS - PROJECT NO. 94-97
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on June 12, 1995, bids
<br />were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to MJW Masonry, Inc., 62276 Orange Road, South
<br />Bend, Indiana the amount of $2,800.00. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bids be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Caldwell seconded
<br />the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ABANDONED
<br />VEHICLES
<br />Ms. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for abandoned vehicles. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the request be
<br />approved. Ms. Manier seconded the motion which carried.

<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following
<br />requests were forwarded to the appropriate Departments and Bureaus for recommendation:
<br />- TO CONDUCT A BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Melissa DeClercq,130 N. Hawthorn Drive, South.Bend, Indiana, submitted a request to conduct
<br />a block party on Saturday, August 19, 1995, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., on Hawthorne Drive,
<br />from Colfax to Washington.
<br />- TO CONDUCT A BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Susan Farrell, 1842 Wilber Street, South Bend, Indiana, submitted a request to conduct a block
<br />party on Tuesday, July 4, 1995, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m., in the 1800 block of Wilber Street.
<br />- TO CONDUCT A BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Lois Hugins, 822 South Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, submitted a request to conduct a
<br />block party on Sunday, July 2, 1995, from 1:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., in the 800 block of South
<br />Bendix Drive.
<br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Contractor Bonds be approved and/or released as follows:
