<br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above bids were
<br />referred V the Division of Equipment Services for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR COLLECTION SERVICES - MIDWEST COLLECTION
<br />SERVICES
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Contract for Collection Services between
<br />the City of South Bend and Midwest Collection Services, Inc., 3222 Mishawaka Avenue, South
<br />Bend, Indiana. It is further noted that services to be provided include after due notice to the owner
<br />or other parties of interest, clearing of trash, litter, debris, garbage, vegetation, and similar materials,
<br />removal of abandoned vehicles, and securing or demolishing structures. Therefore, upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Contract was approved and
<br />executed.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR SOUTHEAST REDEVELOPMENT AREA SITE CLEARANCE -
<br />PHASE I STRUCTURE REMOVAL PACKAGE - PROJECT NO 94-72
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Contract for the above referred to project
<br />between B&J Excavation, 1104 West Donald, South Bend, Indiana, and the City of South Bend. It
<br />is noted that this Contract is in the amount of $89,975.00. It is further noted that services to be
<br />provided include removal of thirty-three (33) residential structures. Therefore, upon a motion made
<br />by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Contract was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR SAMPLE-EWING REDEVELOPMENT AREA - SITE
<br />CLEARANCE PHASE I - STRUCTURE REMOVAL PACKAGE 3 - PROJECT NO. 95-15
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Contract for the above referred to project
<br />between Warner & Sons, 29099 U.S. 33, Elkhart, Indiana, and the City of South Bend. It is noted
<br />that this Contract is in the amount of $29,500.00. It is further noted that services to be provided
<br />include structure removal of (4) commercial properties at 918-922, 1014, 1020 and 1104-12 South
<br />Michigan Street. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier
<br />and carried, the Contract was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS
<br />The following Community Development Contracts were presented to the Board for approval:

<br />It is noted that Jim Caldwell is a member of the Center for the Homeless ExecutiveBoard, therefore,
<br />he abstained from voting on this Contract. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, the Contract for the Center for the Homeless Shelter Activity was approved
<br />and executed. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />Housing Development Corporation Lease/Purchase Program Contract was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR IRONWOOD DRIVE STRUCTURE REMOVAL - PROJECT NO.

<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Contract for structure removal between
<br />Warner & Sons, 29099 State Road 33, Elkhart, Indiana, and the City of South Bend. It is noted that
<br />this Contract is in the amount of $6,300.00. It is further noted that services to be provided include
<br />the clearing of structures at 1901 and 1911 South Ironwood. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs.
<br />Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Contract was approved and executed.
