s 3 REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 27, 1995 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:37 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 1995, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Brunel. APPROVE CORRECTED MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Mrs. Manier noted that page 67 incorrectly stated the award of a bid to O.J. Shoemaker, Inc., in that the Combined Bid (includes Division "A" & "B") should be corrected to read Division "A" and "C". Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the corrected minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on February 13, 1995, were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - FIELD COATING WORK - IRELAND STATION RESERVOIR AND FELLOWS STATION ELEVATED BOOSTER TANK - PROJECT NO. 94-94 This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: JETCO, LTD Post Office Box 934 Prospect Heights, Illinois 60070 Bid was signed by Mr. Steve Brend, Jr., President Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: Division "A" $290,800.00 Division "B" $ 56,000.00 Division "B" Alternate $268,000.00 Total of "A" & "B" $346,800.00 Total Base + Alternate $614,800.00 Note: The bid does not include the 45 working days for Division "A" and Division "B" due to the changes by addendum. UNIVERSAL PAINTING CO., INC. 1319 S. Lafayette Boulevard South Bend, Indiana 46601 Bid was signed by Mr. William Fortson, President Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: Division "A" $439,037.00 Division "B" $ 90,918.00 Division "B" Alternate $229,650.00 Total of "A" & "B" $529,955.00 Total Base + Alternate $759,605.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the above bids were referred to the Department of Water Works for review and recommendation.
